Between Siblings and Secrets

Chapter 1

'Bang Bang' fireworks burst into the air, and are gone in an instant.

"Michael, Elena's brother, what are you talking about?" A petite figure burst in, interrupting their conversation.

Michael is Elena's brother, and John became classmates in college, since then, every New Year's Day he never forgets to return home, so in Elena's heart, he has long been like family.

"Don't do that all the time, call me brother from now on." Michael hooked his arm around Elena's neck mischievously, and turned his eyes to John, who was leaning against the railing.

Elena slapped his arm hard, and when he wouldn't let go, she drove her elbow into his stomach, and Michael immediately let go.

"If I'm going to call you both brother, then who the hell am I supposed to call?" Elena raised her head, looking at him.

"Me, of course." Michael said confidently, rubbing his belly, "I'm your brother, you're a mean little girl, aren't you afraid I won't make my flight tomorrow."

"Are you traveling?" Elena asked with concern.

Michael's major was history and archaeology, sometimes business trips were common for him, since graduation, he moved out and only saw Elena a couple of times a year, but whenever Elena needed him, he was always there.

"Well, it's a month-long trip, I can't tell you anything else, and as for John, you're going to be teaching at the school next semester, so it'll be easier to take care of you if you stay at your place."

Elena looked at John, "I don't need looking after."

After Michael left, Elena didn't want to be in a position of being managed, although John was more relaxing than Michael.

Michael deliberately stood up straight in front of Elena, making a taller gesture, and every time he did so, Elena realized that he was mocking Elena, who had grown older, but not taller.

"Michael, you're not getting on a plane tomorrow, why don't I buy you a wheelchair online."

John's eyes followed the figure running around the house, and he couldn't help but smile a rare smile at the corner of his mouth, a warm curved smile that shed a light on the holes in his heart.

The next day, Elena and John stood at the airport check-in gate, watching Michael's back gradually moving away, before they could not help but sniffle, showing a trace of intolerance.

John always stood behind Elena, quietly accompanied, did not urge.

After a while, Elena pulled up her scarf to cover her red face, her big watery eyes blinking towards him.

"John, let's go."

John drove Elena to the school, due to the vacation homework, Elena had a lot of information to deal with in the school, so she had to come as early as possible.

He stood behind Elena, his hands weighed down with luggage, his and Elena's, "This is your room."

Elena opens the freezer, pulls out a chocolate flavored ice cream, sits on the couch and digs deep, "John, what do you teach?"

"I teach Applied Physics."

Elena's eyes widened, this was the subject that would help Elena's major the most!

Although their relationship is good, but usually in addition to the New Year's meeting, almost no in-depth understanding of each other's life, the other party's specialty is not clear, Elena only know that he is still single, this news will be mentioned every year in the elders will be urged to get married.

But the good news is, Elena's thesis is finally saved.

"Do you eat snacks? How about this, how about this?" Elena drags a box of snacks from her room, various bags laid out one by one.

John saw this and immediately realized something was wrong: "Go ahead."

"I want to ask you to do me some small favor, of course I won't let you help for nothing, my snacks are shareable." Elena flashed a sweet smile and slid plumply onto the carpet.

"It's the physics experiment Mr. John assigned, and the lab report." Elena remembered that she was too busy collecting red envelopes and eating chicken legs stuffed by her elders during Chinese New Year to conduct the experiment.

"There's still a week before the assignment is due, and I need your help."

"I can help you with the experimental part, but for the rest, you'll have to do it yourself." He was Mr. John, and naturally, he couldn't be involved in inappropriate behavior.

"This is the principle of a fan, an energized coil is turned by a force in a magnetic field, the principle of speed regulation can be studied, there are single-phase asynchronous motors and axial-flow fans ......"

John began to explain both in detail. His voice is gentle and magnetic, and despite wearing black-rimmed glasses, he displays a fresh temperament.

His long eyebrows and deep features are impressive, and his fair complexion, dressed in a casual suit, gives off an air of calmness and reliability.

Seeing Elena froze, he asked softly, "Got it?"

"Ah, uh-huh." Elena nodded her head vigorously, but in her heart, she was secretly annoyed, was it too late for the solution Elena had just mentioned?

"Now let's start the experiment."

John found Elena's fan, plugged it in, the button was not turned off, a sudden gust of cold wind came, Elena couldn't help but step back, her feet slipped, and she almost leaned on him.

Elena was too busy grabbing his arm, then stabilized herself and turned off the fan.

The two of them were unaffected by this little incident, and the experiment went on without a hitch. As night fell, Elena couldn't help but stretch a little, picking up her cell phone and looking out the window.

"John, what do you want to eat, I'll order takeout."

John opened the fridge and saw that it was full of chocolate flavored ice-cream and ice-cream, but there was hardly any other food, so he had to make do with what he had.

"Whatever." He said as he sat back down next to Elena.

Elena ran her finger over the menu and remembered that John didn't seem to be able to eat much spicy food, so she decided to order some light takeout.

When it arrives, Elena puts it on the coffee table and sits down on the carpet to eat, John sits down with his legs crossed, but he has to move back because of the small space.

One by one, the lids were opened, Elena picked up her chopsticks, and turned to the man next to her and said, "John, eat."

John picked up the white rice and ate it in small bites, and when he saw Elena's face bulging with food, he couldn't help but speed up his eating.

At the end of the meal, Elena just wanted to sit in a limp position, the takeout piled up on the table, just wait until Elena wanted to clean it up and then deal with it, that's how Elena always did during the weekdays.

However, Elena suddenly noticed an industrious figure next to her, clearing the takeout from the table, her long fingers constantly crossing Elena's face.

Elena immediately sat up straight, "John, let me help you."

"I've already cleaned up."

Elena's outstretched hands stopped for no apparent reason, thinking, This is too soon.

John looked over at Elena as he packed up the trash, "It's not good for you to lie down after you've just eaten."

Elena hurriedly took the trash, "I'll, I'll take out the trash."

Elena went upstairs after taking out the garbage, feeling her hands sticking to the oil, frowning in disgust. Back to the room, Elena picked up the clothes and pushed open the door of the restroom, then her eyes stared at him, and saw his solid abs, his body is so perfect.

John saw that Elena was oblivious, and hastily pulled up a towel to cover himself; he had intended to take a shower, but had accidentally taken off his shirt.

Elena was snapped back to her senses by his actions and nervously said, "Yeah, I'm sorry." Elena immediately closed the door.

Chapter 2

Michael's ears flushed slightly as the door closed, but he tried to maintain his composure, making sure the bathroom door was closed before continuing to remove his coat. The sound of water running came from the bathroom, and Elena's hand gently stroked her burning cheeks, trying to ease the pounding of her heart.

Elena had always lived alone, but now that there was another person in the room, Elena felt a little uncomfortable, and pushed open the door to her own room and stepped inside.

At this moment, John came out from the restroom, thought about Elena just carrying clothes, seems to be to take a shower, he was hesitating to knock on the door to tell Elena, but saw Elena carrying a bag came out, almost face-to-face collision. As he got closer, he smelled the familiar aroma of shower gel on Elena's body.

"Did you use my body wash?" He couldn't help but ask.

"I didn't have time to get it today, I'll get it tomorrow." John hurried to explain.

Elena nodded, took the initiative and pushed the bathroom door open and stepped inside, covering her heart with both hands and closing her eyes, wondering what the hell was wrong with her today. Was there something wrong with her that made her heart race when she faced him? After the shower, Elena sat cross-legged on the couch, biting into her ice cream, trying to calm herself down.

John came out from his room and saw Elena eating a cold drink, not wanting to go to bed in the middle of the night. "Staying up late is not a good habit." He reminded gently.

"I think something is wrong with me, I can't sleep." Elena looked serious.

Concerned, John walked over and asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's just a rapid heartbeat, do you think I should register for a cardiologist?" Elena's eyes moved away from the cell phone, seeing his face, her heartbeat accelerated even more. Originally nothing, but now let Elena heart panic, Elena know, see him to relieve this feeling.

John frowned: "Do you have a past medical history? There are many reasons for a racing heart, it's better to go to the hospital and get it checked out."

"I think, I found the cause, good night." Elena said, hurriedly running back to her room.

The next morning, Elena still didn't have class, lazily slept until noon before getting up, stretched out of the room, saw the table was set with three dishes and one soup. The New Year's John, just to Elena's parents to help, simply did not think that he would actually cook.

"Dinner's ready." John walked out wearing a newly bought black and white checkered apron, his gentle voice made Elena's heart beat wildly again.

"I, I have a date, you eat." Elena said in a panic, and immediately pushed open the door to leave.

John stared at the direction of the door, someone's appointment? From then on, Elena spent the rest of her time hiding in her room, except for labs, where she had to be in contact with him, until Elena finally finished her thesis and finished her winter vacation.

On the first day of school, one after another people came to the classroom, Sophia sat next to Elena, took out a few bags of specialties, pushed them in front of Elena: "Damn woman, a month of winter vacation, you didn't give me a call."

"You're not on New Year's, I'm busy writing my thesis." Elena sighed and shook her head.

"Since when did you work so hard? Look, I paid someone to write it, it's so easy and nice." Elena laid the printed paper in front of Elena.

Elena was about to say something when the bell rang and John walked into the classroom, textbook in hand. The sunlight poured through the door and onto his head, his hair was dyed blonde and he looked even more attractive.

"Wow, this new Mr. John is so handsome, is there a rule in the school that forbids student-teacher relationship?" Sophia asked excitedly.

"No." Elena lowered her head, didn't dare to look at him again, she could only bury her head in her books.

"Then I'm welcome." Sophia said half-jokingly.

John put down his books and spoke unconcernedly, "I don't have many classes, I was invited by the principal to come to the school to teach a few classes occasionally, do you know about Applied Physics?"

Sophia raised her hand and stood up, "Mr. John, we want to know more about you!"

The whole class chimed in, "Yes, Mr. John, you're so handsome, we want to know more about you!"

"I hope you'll all improve on your final exams." John guided them to turn to the textbook.

He didn't look at the book, but he knew every page, while the students were busy taking notes, at this moment, John became a legend in their hearts.

Elena felt her heart beating fast and began to unconsciously press the tip of her pen against her heart, trying to concentrate on her notes.

When the bell rang, Sophia rushed to the podium to have a chat with John, who was never very talkative, but liked to listen to people's problems.

"Mr. John, you haven't formally introduced yourself to us yet, can you tweet me? I can ask you anything I don't understand afterward."

"Some problems can be solved in class, my class is less formal." John said and left the classroom.

Sophia went back to her seat, feeling a bit lost: "Mr. John is a bit different from what I expected, a bit high strung."

Elena takes a deep breath, as long as she doesn't hear his voice, Elena can regain her calmness.Elena looks at Sophia: "Let me ask you a question, I met someone recently, my heart beats faster when I meet him, it's worse now, even when I hear his voice, do I need to see a doctor?"

"You're really sick, very sick, it must be a guy, right?" Sophia nodded seriously.

"Uh-huh." Elena nodded, wondering why Sophia knew.

"I'm telling you, it's the coming of spring, everything's coming back to life, and it's the mating season for animals, so you've got a crush on him? What does he look like?" Sophia inquired, intriguingly.

"Oh, no way, he's my brother's friend."

"Friend?" Sophia caught the gist, "There's a five year difference between you and your brother, and five years is an acceptable range, at least it's not old."

Elena felt her conversation with Sophia getting more and more sidetracked, so she hurriedly packed up her things and got ready to leave, "I, I have to go back."

"It's only one class today, come on, I'll take you to play, to celebrate you growing up." Sophia took Elena by the shoulders.

"No, I want to be alone." Elena covers her head and walks out of the classroom.

Elena was walking in the playground, a little confused, when a shout came to her ears: "Look out, move over!"

A heavy object fell towards the top of Elena's head, Elena's mind went blank, her eyes went black, and she collapsed because she lost consciousness. The people in the basketball court gathered around.

"Ben, what now?"

"What should we do? Send her to the hospital!" Ben said hurriedly.

Ben drove the sports car, followed the ambulance to the hospital, the doctor examined Elena: "The patient has a slight concussion, wake up and observe, to make sure there is no problem can be discharged."

Chapter 3

School Dormitory

John Watson looks at his watch from time to time, the schedule is taped to the refrigerator, where he passes every day. He only has one class today and should be back early, it's eleven o'clock at night.

He suddenly remembered that Elena had been going out a lot, except for writing her thesis, and couldn't help but think of one of the things that girls go through in adolescence. Although it had nothing to do with him, it did exist.

He took out his cell phone and dialed Elena's number. Since Michael went out for a while, he had entrusted Elena to him, and would definitely take good care of her.

At Community Hospital, his little brother picked up Elena's ringing cell phone, "Ben, ta called three times, should we answer?"

Ben Foster glanced over and crossed his legs, "Do you guys know Elena well?"

They all shook their heads in unison, and Ben sat up straight, "Then how dare you answer someone's phone? If we're the ones who hurt her, we're the ones responsible. The doctor said Elena has a concussion, what if she's stupid? Stay here and wait for Elena to wake up."

"You're the one who's stupid." Elena sat up.

"People are finally waking up, you're such a sleeper." My little brother said admiringly.

Elena looked to the four people in the hospital room, "Who are you?"

At that moment, the nurse came in to check on the situation and allowed Elena to be discharged, little brother immediately went to check out of the hospital, they walked out of the hospital together, Ben explained to Elena about Elena's injury.

Elena stood on the side of the road waiting for a car, the wind was cold, Elena shivered, hugged her arms, took out her cell phone ready to call a car.

The lights of a parked car flashed, and Ben poked his head through the window, "Come up, I'll take you home."

"No, I'm fine."

The little brother opened the passenger seat and forced Elena into it, "We were playing basketball by accident, Ben said he'd take care of you until you recovered."

Elena wanted to refuse, but before she could put on her seatbelt, the car took off. He dropped Elena off at the bottom of the school's apartment.

Elena pushed the door open and got out of the car when Ben said, "The doctor said to take three days off, and I'll take care of your food and supplies for the next three days."

"No, really."

"You're welcome, let's go." The little brother sitting in the backseat waved at Elena.

This scene was seen by Michael upstairs, the limousine, the rich boy?

Elena took out her cell phone, and saw that John had called Elena many times, her footsteps accelerated and she opened the door to go in.

The light is on in the house, Elena probes: "John?"

John turned his head, his face serious: "Come here."

Elena walked over, and volunteered, "I came home so late, because-"

When the words came out of her mouth, Elena's mind was suddenly filled with Sophia's words, all of Elena's previous reactions, was it because she liked him?

John saw Elena did not say further, thought it was difficult to speak, so he spoke: "In love."

"Huh?" Elena looked surprised.

"I need to talk to your brother about this." John dialed Michael's number.

Before Elena could figure out how he'd come to that conclusion, Michael's TV was on, and he talked about Elena's situation.

Michael shouted excitedly, "Elena, are you too old to fall in love?"

Elena didn't like it, and when you talk nicely to Elena, Elena has a good temper, but when you don't talk nicely, Elena's temper flares up.

"Michael, I'm an adult, what's wrong with falling in love, is it illegal?"

"You're only a freshman, what's the hurry? Break it up, break it up now, is that right?"

"No, I won't, what can you do about it." Elena glanced at John and ran back to her room, closing the door behind her.

Michael was furious: "If I knew who it was, I'd take that kid's legs off, how dare he abduct my sister."

John felt as if the two siblings couldn't talk to each other, and that they wouldn't be able to solve their problems.

"Being in love is not a bad thing, we should talk about it."

"Keep an eye on her, I'll get Elena when I get back," Michael hung up.

John stood at the door of Elena's room, and spoke slowly: "It's okay to fall in love, but it's not okay to stay out late, next time you can't come back so late."

The door of the room opened, Elena stood in front of him, her height was only up to his chest, Elena could only lean her neck to talk to him.

"What do you mean, you don't agree with my brother's opinion, you agree that I should fall in love?" Elena's tone of voice was particularly harsh.

Elena also found it strange that Michael didn't agree with Elena being angry, but he agreed with Elena being angrier.

John saw that Elena was in a bad mood, and coughed, "Let's talk about it after we calm down."

"I can't calm down, I'm an adult and I can take responsibility for my own affairs, you guys are taking too much control and I'm not happy about it." Elena said turning around and closing the door behind her.

John stood in front of Elena's room for a while, making sure there was no movement inside, before going back to his room.

The next morning, Elena with panda eyes into the University Classroom, Sophia saw: "love is really torturing things, sleep quality is still the leading figure, is it insomnia?"

"Don't mention it, I'm on fire."

At this moment, four people come to the door of the classroom, Ben walks in front of them, sees Elena's position, walks from the steps, puts the breakfast in front of Elena, and props his hand on the table.

"I said I'd bring you breakfast, but why did you leave? Luckily I had someone who asked about your class here."

"I'm really fine, no, you can take it." Elena slumped back onto the table in annoyance.

"It's only three days, I'm sure I can take care of you, I'll bring you anything you want for lunch, or, together?" Ben looked sideways at Elena.

Any other girl wouldn't have missed the chance to be alone with him, but he didn't break Elena's little heart.

Elena glanced at him, was this guy sick?

Sophia smiled politely, "Ben, I'll take care of Elena, you can go now."

"Okay, I'll come back at noon." Ben left the classroom.

Sophia inquired, "What's going on with you and Ben?"

"He smashed me with a basketball, and then I went to the hospital, and after that I got the wrong idea about being in love." Elena frowns, irritated.

"The one who misunderstood you, is the one you like, right, sister, class first, we'll sort it out after class." Sophia patted Elena's shoulder.

At noon, Elena lined up at the cafeteria, Ben came in with takeout, and the girls all gathered around him.

The little brother behind him blocked in front of him, "Ladies, if you have any questions, just ask us."

Elena, carrying her tray, saw Ben's face and leaned over, upset.

"When are the three days up?"

"Just bear with it, Ben's father is a shareholder of the school, half of the required lab equipment is funded by his family, don't offend him." Sophia comforted.

Ben slipped away from the back, walked to Elena: "I asked the doctor, the doctor said you'd better eat something light, I packed you some congee, I won't eat anything else."

He took the plate from Elena's hand and handed the takeout to Elena, his eyes imploring Elena to eat quickly.

Elena looked at the takeaway, "You can leave after you finish the delivery."

"Okay, I'll come back this afternoon." Ben walked to the door, waved to his little brother, and the group of them left immediately.

Chapter 4

After he leaves, a girl walks up to Elena with a colorful dirty braid and stands in front of her in a condescending manner. "Girl, whatever your relationship is with Ben, stay away from him."

Elena retorted resentfully, "Why should I stay away from him? What does our relationship have to do with you?"

Elena's eyes slanted, pressing Elena, as if she were about to strike at any moment. At that moment, a Mr. John passes by and stops the girl in time, whispering, "Don't make a scene while Mr. John is around."

Sophia saw the situation, quickly pulled Elena out of the restaurant, Elena and the girls sat on the stairs of the laboratory building, Sophia looked at Elena and said: "Sisters, today will be a big trouble, just now the name of Nina, is the school's bully, likes Ben, and Elena saw this. "

"It's Elena's business if she likes him, what's it got to do with me?" Elena didn't care.

"Boy, you're missing the point... Elena is so possessive of Ben, she won't let anyone near him." After all, Ben had taken such good care of Elena, Nina must be freaking out right now.

Elena looked at Sophia in confusion, Elena they were both freshmen, how did Sophia know so much? "Where did you learn all this?"

"You're the one who just reads, not me. I've got my own gossip, lots of it, want to hear who?" Sophia smiled.

In the afternoon lab class, all non-majors were not allowed to enter, not even their families, so they could finally enjoy some quiet time. When the class ended at four o'clock, Sophia took Elena into a relatively quiet bar and ordered two cocktails.

As soon as Elena stepped into the bar, she kept looking back, "Is he following us?"

"He's been paranoid ever since you snuck out the back door, beautiful. Don't worry, he'll never expect you to escape from here." Sophia patted Elena's shoulder.

Elena confirms that no one is following her, sighs in relief, her body relaxes, and takes a sip of her drink, "This is where you said you'd bring me, my brother never lets me come to the bar."

"You're just too well protected, this is paradise." Sophia stroked the outline of her glass. "My favorite time to come in is four or five and leave at seven or eight, because that's when the bar opens and it's especially quiet."

Elena accepted the taste of the cocktail and drank it down. sophia saw this and said anxiously, "Elena, slow down, it's strong."

"It's okay, I can drink it, just one more." Elena raised her finger at the bartender.

Sophia looked at Elena and raised two fingers, she realized that it was not good, Elena held Elena's arm, "Come on, I'll take you home."

"No, I'm fine, I don't need a ride."

Elena opened her arms, she thought she was walking straight, but in fact she was a bit wobbly, and Sophia followed carefully behind her.

Ben happened to be wandering around the campus, looking for someone to take out with him, when he came across Elena on the garden path, and immediately rushed up to her, smelling the odor of alcohol, and looking at Elena's flushed face, he wondered, "Why are you drinking?"

Elena glared at him hard: "You stay away from me, you're in my way."

Sophia stood in front of him and said seriously, "Your presence has had an impact on Elena's life. You think you're in charge, but you're actually causing trouble for Elena."

"How so?" Ben asks in disbelief, he's just being concerned about Elena.

"Ben, don't you realize how influential you are with the girls at school? You brought Elena food in front of all those girls, is that really okay?"

Sophia saw Elena going far away, she hurriedly chased after her, holding Elena's arm, "Slow down, I'll take you back."

"No, I'm fine."

Ben looks at Elena's back, scratches his head and walks in the opposite direction.

Sophia walks Elena to the door and gently asks, "Where are the keys?"

Elena reaches into her pocket and searches for them, and after a moment holds them up with a proud face: "Here they are!"

"Well, good girl." Elena was just about to open the door, when it opened from the inside, and John was standing in the doorway, dressed in a casual suit.

Sophia was surprised, "Mr. John, why do you live with Elena?"

"I'm Elena's brother."

Sophia realizes, nods, "Oh, then I'll leave you to it... the man is here, I'm off."

John poured a glass of lukewarm water and inquired with concern, "Has Elena been drinking?"

"Well, in a bad mood, Mr. John, I'm off." Sophia waved goodbye.

John sits down by the couch, looks at Elena, "Why are you drinking?"

Elena narrows her eyes slightly, her pale face looks deep, her crystal eyes are like stars.Elena reaches over and takes off his glasses, casually tossing them away.

John look at the glasses fell on the carpet, the lenses are nothing, then picked up and put on.Elena sat up, patted the seat beside her: "Sit."

He walked over and sat down, Elena turned her head, dissatisfied with only seeing the side of his face, so she got up and sat directly across his lap, fighting for a chance to be at eye level with him. "I'm an adult, not only can I fall in love, but I can do a lot of things."

John held his breath and tentatively pushed Elena away, "Elena, sit down."

"Are you not getting what I'm saying." Elena gripped the edge of his suit with both hands, tilted her head and kissed him softly on the lips.

John's pupils dilated slightly, his thin lips pursed, and his body froze.Elena felt something hard, stepped back to look at him, then kissed again.

Elena cupped his face and kissed him with abandon, John's breath caught in his throat as Elena's bright red lips continued to fall on his lips.

He couldn't help but hold Elena's waist, drawing her closer to him. There was a knife-edge tension between the rising desire in his head and his sober reasoning.

Finally, John lifted Elena gently and set her aside, panting, "Elena."

Elena collapsed unconsciously onto the couch, murmuring, "I don't know, if I like you anymore."

John pushed open the balcony door and stepped outside, letting the cold night air rage, gradually dispersing the heat from his body. He looked out at the distant lights and wondered if he had just gone crazy. Even in the face of great temptation, he should have been as calm as water.

However, just now he almost lost control, and Elena was still drunk, if he made a rash action on this night, he would become an animal.

After a long time, he returned to the living room, leaned over and picked up Elena, who looked very quiet in his arms.

The distance from the living room to the bedroom was only ten steps, and his eyes fell on Elena's tender lips from time to time. When his mind wandered, he went to the bed, gently put Elena down, covered her up, turned off the bedside lamp, and quietly left.

Chapter 5

John Watson was lying on the blue sheets, his hand on the back of his head, thinking about what had just happened, and what Elena had said.Who did Elena like? Thinks he's the one, glad nothing happened, or the little girl might have hated him.

The next morning, Elena Williams sat up with her head in her hands, "Why does my head hurt so much, it feels like it's going to split open." Elena opened her eyes, saw a glass of water on the bed, and a sticky note: leave for a week, take care of yourself.Elena picked up the cup and took a sip, and realized that it was honey water, and drank half of the cup in one gulp, mainly because it was too sweet.

Elena washed up, changed her clothes and sat down on the dining room chair, taking a sandwich and tearing it open a little bit and stuffing it into her mouth, thinking back to what happened last night when she entered the room. But unfortunately, Elena couldn't remember any of it. Wanted to ask John Watson if he'd said or done anything outrageous. Picking up her cell phone one moment, then putting it down the next, thinking that he was probably busy at the moment, Elena propped her head up on her hands and took a big bite of her breakfast.

John Watson sat in his office chair, his fingers tapping on the keyboard, recording experimental data. His fingertips slowed to a stop, and his mind filled with soft touches. He even remembered the moment he let go, and was still a little upset, what was wrong with him.

"Professor Watson, do you see a problem with the data, Professor?"

John came back to his senses, took the file, and focused on calculating the data, "This step is wrong, go do something else, I'll take care of it."

"Professor, aren't you busy?"

"Almost done with it." John looked down and started to change the data. After he graduated, he set up a physics studio, mainly doing experiments and recording experimental data, where each of them had three or four patents in their hands.

"By the way, Professor, Michael's batch of materials came in the mail, do we need to start the experiment right away, or do we need to do something to prepare?"

"Experiment." John looked at him. The hard ones were saved for last, for them to crack, and the easy ones were left for the newbies, that's how they'd always distributed them. He nodded, turned and left, closing the door to his office, John finished correcting the data, put on his protective gear and started the experiment.

In the afternoon, Elena was walking in the playground when Nina Brown came up with a group of people, Elena looked up at them, looking for trouble in the middle of the day, Nina walked up to Elena, "Ben said he hurt you by accident, we'll take care of your injuries, come on."

Elena waved her hand, the girl standing beside Elena smiled and handed over water, "Drink lots of water, it'll heal faster."

Elena stared at the forced water, Nina picked up her jacket and draped it over Elena's shoulders. "It's so cold, wearing so little, are you trying to get on Ben's bad side."

As the saying goes, you don't get what you don't deserve, these people wanted to fight yesterday, Elena slightly leaned over and tried to take the jacket off, Nina guessed Elena's mind, pressed Elena's shoulder and pushed Elena forward, "Don't you still have to go to class? Hurry up."

"I'm really fine."

"Do you want Ben to know that we didn't take care of you? Two more days, and we'll stay out of each other's way." Nina said bossily.

Elena was escorted by the Elena's all the way to the classroom, and when she saw Sophia Collins, she walked over, pulled out a chair and sat down.

Sophia saw the Elena's and asked with concern, "Did the Elena's bully you?"

"No, they've changed, they're taking good care of me, and it's only two more days until it's over."

"Looks like Ben can eat his people to death." Sophia nodded in recognition.

"What are you talking about?" Elena looks over at Elena.

"Nothing, class." Sophia looks to the blackboard.

After a full day of classes, Elena comes back to the apartment, still holding the takeout Nina forced on her, opens the door, puts her hand where the light switch is, presses it, no movement.Elena pulls out her cell phone, turns on the flashlight, tries the switch, still no response.Elena looks at her cell phone, turns it on, tries the switch, still no response.

Elena's hand trembled as she slid through the address book, John's call came in, his voice with a sobbing tone: "Professor, the power's out."

"Don't be afraid, I'll be right back."

At this time, John was about to stay in the studio, and when he heard Elena's words, he immediately picked up the car keys and left. The elevator door opened and John saw Elena crouching in the hallway, her head buried between her legs, the door wide open. He walks over to her, "Elena."

Elena looked up and saw him, immediately stood up and hugged him tightly, sniffling.John's hot palm was placed on Elena's back: "Don't be afraid."

Elena let go of his hand and looked at him with watery eyes, "Actually, I was scared at first, but I'm fine now that I've gotten used to it."

John took out his cell phone, went in, checked the electric switch, reached out to reopen it, and the room instantly lit up.Elena's eyes went from darkness to light, his face went from blurry to clear, and Elena stared at him silently.

John walks into the kitchen, opens the refrigerator, pulls open the largest compartment, it's filled with bento lunches, "Here's a good meal, you can eat it as soon as you heat it up."

Elena responded, which was supposed to be what he had called to say, "You're so much better than my brother."

"Me." He wanted to leave, but hesitated for fear of tripping the switch. "Last night, did I go too far with you?"

John met Elena's clear eyes, a clear reflection of his heart, which Elena couldn't remember. "No."

Elena breathed a sigh of relief, no was good, no was good. "Professor, you said you were going away for a week, for what?"

"Doing experiments." John avoided Elena's gaze.

"Oh, so did you eat?" Elena raised her head, her eyes curving. The little girl was especially sweet when she smiled, like a pot of honey that melted away all her woes.

John picked up the lunchbox and warmed it up for Elena, Elena came over and stood behind him, "Professor, do you have to go later?"

Now the studio is not so busy, he stayed in the studio purely to calm down, but now, can't afford to leave.

"The microwave dinged, and he took out his lunchbox, "No, let's eat."

Elena's smile deepened, "Professor, you're better than my brother." It was nice to be a brother all the time, John smiled slightly in his mind.

John felt the edges of the bento a little hot, took it and walked to the table, saw the take-out bag on the table, the list said white porridge. "This one is."

"Eating so lightly?"

"The last time I was late, I actually got hit by a basketball, went to the hospital, and the guy you saw, not the guy I'm in love with, was responsible for taking care of me until I recovered."

John realized how outrageous he was being, "Why didn't you say so?"

"You and Michael didn't give me a chance to explain, insisted I was in a relationship, so forget it." Elena sat back in her chair, eating his cooking. It was true, they were in too much of a hurry, mainly because he didn't have any relatives and didn't know how to deal with teenage flutters, next time he would pay attention.

At that moment his cell phone rang, he took it out and looked at it: John, I'm coming to your city, meet me.
