Between Desire and Deception

Chapter 1

**Unspoken Understanding**

After finishing their lunch, Elara Rosethorn led her younger siblings out to gather wooden planks.

After being a monk for so long, Elara finally had a lightbulb moment. She wanted to collect the planks to create partitions, turning the shared space into small, private quarters.

That would certainly make it easier to engage in some discreet activities.

Her siblings shared the same mischievous thoughts, their faces adorned with goofy, sly smiles.

Thorne and Rylan were reluctantly pulled in to act as bodyguards. When they were dragged along, both men wore gloomy expressions; after all, they were still single.

As the sun dipped low in the sky, the group returned with their planks, each man carrying one and grinning like fools, their gazes shifting furtively between the women.

Especially Elara, whose gaze was brazen and lewd. Thalia shot him an exasperated look, her cheeks slowly reddening.

With the men working together, the partitions were quickly set up, but a last-minute issue arose.

There weren’t enough wooden planks.

“I don’t need a partition,” Thalia and Rylan said in unison.

Thalia thought, “...I didn’t expect Rylan to feel the same way. This is perfect for our plan tonight!~(≧▽≦)/~”

Rylan thought, “...I can’t believe Thalia also doesn’t want a partition. This is going to work out perfectly!-(¬. ¬)σ”

Thorne wondered, “...What’s going on here that I don’t know about? Why are Thalia and Rylan so in sync?”

He felt a bit downcast... (. ︿. )

“...Then, I don’t need a partition either,” Thorne said anxiously, quietly watching Thalia’s reaction.

At that moment, Thalia was preoccupied with envisioning a different scenario involving Rylan, completely oblivious to his gaze.

Thorne breathed a sigh of relief—at least she didn’t object. This was a chance to observe her (. )

So, in the entire warehouse, only their three sleeping areas remained without any partitions.

Nightfall arrived, and amidst everyone's eager anticipation, Warrior Thorne made his appearance.

Elara, brimming with impatience, quickly moved beside Thalia, who hesitated for a moment before being pulled into her private space by Elara.

Thalia thought, “...”

Wow, it certainly feels like the perfect season for romance.

As the moon began to rise, the entire warehouse transformed under the dim light, resembling an intimate den.

“I’m afraid of the dark,” Thalia stated earnestly. “I’m putting a flashlight at the head of my bed. You don’t mind, do you?”

“Not at all,” Rylan replied.

Perfect, just as he intended.

Thorne quickly smiled, “No objections here.” It was exactly what he wanted.

With everyone settling into their respective sleeping spaces, the atmosphere turned hushed.

Soon enough, familiar sounds of pleasure began to echo through the makeshift partitions—moans and the rhythmic sounds of intimacy.

Half an hour, an hour, two hours passed...

As the couples grew quiet, a bare leg slowly slipped out from Thalia’s bed.

Bathed in the flashlight's glow, the leg was straight and slender, its porcelain skin smooth and delicate. It was the kind of leg that could inspire a year of desire.

Thalia lay there with her eyes closed, breathing steadily, appearing to be asleep. Yet, that enticing leg continued to stretch, inching closer to Rylan’s bed.

Thorne, peering in, thought, “...What a beautiful leg (⊙o⊙).”

He longed to touch it.

As it edged perilously close to Rylan, Thorne felt a surge of motivation to pull Rylan away.

At that moment, Rylan, who had kept his eyes shut, suddenly opened them and saw that leg just a few centimeters away. In a swift motion, he recoiled.

Thorne sighed in relief—thankfully, they hadn’t touched.

Thalia pondered, “...This isn’t quite what I imagined.”

Chapter 2

**Interest (Supplement Update December 29)**

A man saw a pair of beautiful legs and his reaction was to step back?

Caitlyn clenched her teeth, *Dude, seriously?!*

One minute, two minutes…

Time ticked by, second by second, yet Caitlyn’s outstretched leg still waited for the response she anticipated, only to be met with uncomfortable chills that made her skin prickle with goosebumps.

Caitlyn: “...It’s so cold!”

Chapter 3

The next morning, Cora Chou was feeling under the weather, having caught a chill.

“Cough, cough, cough.” Cora looked weak, even cutting back on her breakfast noodles... she barely touched one-tenth of it.

That one-tenth was eagerly devoured by Lisa, her friend, who let out a satisfied belch afterward.

“Cora, you’re not feeling well. You should just rest today and skip going out,” said Helen, taking charge as if she were the older sister.

So, once again, Cora and her companion, Quinn, stayed behind instead of gathering supplies.

Quinn thought to herself, Now’s my chance.

Cora must be sleeping.

She wouldn’t pass up this opportunity, right?

She would definitely be sleeping... right?

Damn it, is she sleeping or not?

Two to three hours later, Cora was still lively, chatting and laughing with Helen.

Quinn sighed. “... Women are simply impossible to understand.”

With a frustrated stomp of her foot, Quinn headed toward the warehouse restroom.

Cora watched her walk away, her smile clearly visible.

See, she’s not really sick in my book.

With a quick flicker of thoughts, Cora came up with an idea.

With so many women in the warehouse at the moment, Cora swiftly changed into a form-fitting outfit under the covers.

The tight clothing did wonders, accentuating her voluptuous curves and highlighting her tiny waist. The short denim shorts showcased her long, fair legs, making them look even more delicate.

Helen’s eyes flashed with surprise. She hadn’t expected that beneath Cora’s usually baggy attire lay such a striking figure that seemed almost at odds with her delicate face.

Cora was quite pleased with her appearance and gazed towards the back door, determination glinting in her eyes like a messenger in pursuit.

“Whoa, looks like you’ve got your sights set on Quinn,” Helen teased with a grin.

Cora rolled her eyes, “Oh please, it’s hard for any woman to not be interested in him. What can I say?”

Helen gave her a knowing look, clearly not buying it.

After dressing like that, her intentions couldn’t be clearer.

Just then, the back door of the warehouse swung open, and Quinn entered.

Cora smiled, puffing out her chest to show off her assets.

Quinn casually walked over to the table next to Cora and calmly picked up a cup, taking a sip of water as if she hadn’t noticed the provocative scene before her.

Then, without so much as a glance at the posing Cora, she strolled straight to her bed.

With a swift motion, she threw off the covers, laid down, and tucked herself in, falling asleep without a second thought.

Cora’s expression twisted with confusion as she thought, “... So she really isn’t interested in women at all.”

“Hahaha!” The other women, those who had always clashed with Helen, erupted in mocking laughter, exchanging glances with Cora.

“Some people just think too highly of themselves, when in reality, they’re nothing special.”

Stunned for a moment, Cora eventually joined in their laughter, “You’re right! And yet, some people don’t realize they’re nothing more than flirtatious when any man looks their way.”

How quickly they’d forget their flirty glances towards Quinn during the day, only to end up in the arms of some guy at night.

“Go back to your work,” Helen shot them an annoyed look.

The group clenched their jaws in frustration but knew better than to argue with Helen. After all, she seemed to have the current favor of the group leader. They begrudgingly dispersed to continue their tasks.

Helen turned back to comfort Cora, “Don’t let it get to you. There’s an old saying: ‘A bold man fears the woman who clings; sooner or later, you will succeed.’”

Cora’s mouth twitched. So that’s how the saying goes, huh?

Chapter 4

The sun blazed high in the sky, and in the warehouse, Cindy and April were idly chatting, though their minds were elsewhere, intensely anxious about how to get Max aroused.

“...Cindy, Cindy,” April nudged her arm.

“Hmm? What is it?” Cindy replied.

April raised an eyebrow at her. “You really like Max, don’t you?”

Cindy’s lips twitched. “Where on earth do you get that idea?”

“It's obvious, from both of your eyes. Come on, how many times have you looked over at him while we were talking?” April teased.

Cindy felt a flush creep across her face. “If I say it’s just a misunderstanding, are you going to believe me?”

April rolled her eyes. “You know, that’s a bit boring. I was actually going to give you some tips. If you don’t want to have some fun with Max, then forget what I said.”

Cindy's eyes brightened. “Oh, sister, what do you have in mind?”

April shot her a look that said, “You can do this,” before continuing, “When men first see a woman, they usually look at her chest. Yours is quite impressive, so if you take off your shirt and flaunt it in front of him... you think he wouldn’t be tempted?”

Cindy thought to herself, maybe she was mistaken about Max’s lack of interest...

“Stop thinking so hard; action speaks louder than words,” April said, giving her shoulder a reassuring pat. “While Max is asleep, I’ll take those reluctant girls out back. You can take your chance with him!”

After giving Cindy a determined look, April genuinely gathered the reluctant girls and headed out towards the back of the warehouse.

Cindy glanced over at Max, still sound asleep. Maybe, just maybe, it was worth a shot.

Max felt an itch on his nose, as if something soft was brushing against it.

He opened his drowsy eyes, only to see a soft mound of white flesh swaying before him, with a tiny red flower perched atop it. In his hazy state, he suddenly felt a pang of hunger—a craving to taste.

Before he could think, the soft mound pressed down on his face and lips.

Instinctively, he drew a breath in, tasting a sweet aroma—not the flower itself, but something even more appealing. Without meaning to, he deepened his sucking.

Cindy's eyes sparkled with delight; it turned out he was interested in women after all.

“Hmm~” she mimicked a sultry actress, letting a series of sweet moans escape her lips, filled with charm and allure.

Her goal was to get Max aroused and collect the evidence of his condition. The excitement flickered brilliantly in her eyes.

Then suddenly, with a forceful shove, Cindy was pushed away, facing Max, whose expression was icy, his gaze sharp as a knife.

Cindy: “...”

Max was truly bewildered.

And Max himself was furious; he had just sucked on a woman's nipple.

The worst part? He actually found it rather pleasant...

His earlobes gradually turned a suspicious shade of red as he looked down at Cindy, who wore an expression of utter disbelief. Was there something special about Cindy?

He clearly remembered feeling nauseous at the mere thought of touching a woman.

Overwhelmed with confusion, Max automatically reached out and touched the soft skin he uncovered. Hmm, the sensation was quite nice.

Cindy stared at the hand now roaming across her exposed skin, frozen for a couple of seconds before her gaze shifted downwards... soft.

Despite being bitten and touched, there was still no sign of arousal from him.

“Whack!” Cindy slapped Max hard across the face.

“You pervert!” she glared at him, her voice firm and resolute.

“Hmph, is that all you got?” Max retorted instinctively, then quickly dove back into the covers, wanting to hide his flushing ears from view.

Chapter 5

**Kiss**

It was just as she thought.

Caitlin's body trembled with rage as she stared at her own voluptuous curves. This was unacceptable.

Just as she resolved to make him respond to her, in the dim light of the blankets, Alex felt the heat in his ears begin to cool; his heartbeat steadied, but the sudden rustle of movement caught his attention.

What was Caitlin up to?

His thoughts were interrupted by a flicker of emotion in her sparkling eyes as she shifted under the covers. He couldn’t help but peek out from beneath the blankets.

And then… the world spun out of control.

Caitlin gave a little pat to the powder she had just mixed, watching with a mischievous grin as Alex’s dazed expression registered the effect. "Do you know who you should never cross? A petty woman. And guess what? I happen to be one of them."

Swirling in confusion, Alex fought to shake off the dizziness that the powder had induced. Just as he was regaining clarity, Caitlin’s taunts ignited a fire in him.

"You crafty little minx," he wanted to say, but before the words could escape, another wave of dizziness crashed over him.

Alex felt the temperature rising around him, a heat that made him want to strip away every garment he wore.

The sensations were intense, fiery threads coursing through every nerve ending, pooling into one singular point of heat.

He realized the truth: Caitlin had slipped him an aphrodisiac.

A surge of anger hit him like a tidal wave. No way would he let her win.

Caitlin watched as an affected Alex tossed and turned, his face intensifying in color while she wore a glowing smile.

Her prize was just within reach, a promise of victory sparkling in her eyes.

Turning, she made her way to grab a glass of ice water, intending to splash it coolly over him. It was a strong, intentional movement designed to jolt him from this state.

“Just you wait, you underestimated me. I’m going to give you a lesson you won’t forget.”

In her victorious reverie, Caitlin couldn't help but hum a cheerful tune, “Oh, the simple folks are having a day, just feeling great…”

With determination burning in his chest, Alex suddenly surged up, tackling Caitlin to the ground. With frantic emotions swirling, he found himself staring into her luscious, crimson lips; he leaned in and kissed her fiercely.

“Mmm…” Caitlin’s protests were swallowed by his fervent embrace as she struggled, slapping his back in frustration, her eyes ablaze with anger.

Her attempts were feeble, a mere tickle against him; Alex neither noticed nor cared. He deepened the kiss, his unrefined tongue wandering into her mouth, dancing with hers in a fervor that echoed against the walls of their shared tension.

It felt as though Caitlin’s warm sweetness was the only thing that could quench his intense need.

After battling with women’s touches, Alex thought he might have contracted another affliction. This kiss with Caitlin felt so maddeningly irresistible, pulling him toward an unquenchable desire.

Though Caitlin had indeed drugged him, the effects were beginning to wear off—his mind was clear again.

However, the heat persisted. It wasn't the stifling heat of summer; it radiated from deep within, a smoldering ember of anticipation. This unfamiliar sensation bewildered him, compelling him to hold on to Caitlin as he continued kissing her, seeking solace in her warmth.

And just like that, he surrendered to the moment, disregarding her protests, diving headfirst into this passionate exchange, like a wolf letting loose in the wild.
