Between Passion and Dreams

Chapter 1

In the bustling city of Meridian, where the skies were painted a breathtaking blue, Aldric Windham stood at the helm of Noble Air Lines as its ambitious CEO. Life had thrown challenges at her, but she faced each one with a fierceness that only grew over time. Meanwhile, in the same city, Gaius Blackwood—a struggling college student in aerospace engineering—faced a different kind of life lesson. Prodded by the overwhelming medical expenses for his ailing father, Sir Roland Blackwood, Gaius found himself taking a job at a dubious establishment, humorously dubbed "The Duckling Shop."

The first day on the job turned out to be a whirlwind. Little did Gaius know that he was on a collision course with fate. That morning, amidst the clatter of dishes and the laughter of patrons, he stumbled upon Aldric. Of all things, he didn’t even know how to kiss! But as the days passed, he learned—all too well—how to navigate the complicated realms of attraction and denial.

A wild spark ignited between them, though Gaius stubbornly refused to admit his feelings. "You don't like me, do you?" Aldric teased, her emerald eyes glinting with mischief. Gaius, not wanting to let his guard down, merely shrugged, deflecting her playful jab.

But Aldric, fiery and relentless, was not one to take the bait lightly. After another bout of charming banter, she decided to throw him off course. “If you’re not going to admit you like me, how about a trip to the top of Lord Eldric’s tower? You'll have to climb down the entire way if you change your mind!” she smirked, pointing toward the lofty heights of the historical estate.

Gaius's pride was stung; he couldn’t let her think she got the best of him. “I'll be back," he proclaimed defiantly, only for Aldric to laugh in delight.

As if by cosmic design, their paths danced back into alignment. Gaius, now transformed from timid worker to a man infused with newfound confidence, returned to her life - not in the shadows but boldly claiming his space. His transformation was hard-won, and he relished each moment as he stepped into the role of the man Aldric had unknowingly drawn out of him.

“Where's that Goldie I once knew?” Aldric asked, catching him off guard one late afternoon. “This new you has a wild side I can’t ignore."

Gaius smirked, “Maybe he got lost on the way to finding himself.” But in truth, he wanted to look her in the eyes, tell her just how much he adored her, not just the wild adventure she embodied but the strength and determination within her.

In a moment of reckless abandon, he scooped her into his arms and declared, “Aldric Windham, I love you!” It wasn’t merely the words that held weight but the sincerity behind them. Flushed with both his daring approach and the depth of his declarations, Aldric was taken aback for an instant.

“I might throw you out of the tower again if you keep this up,” she replied, playfully pushing against him but unable to hide her smile.

Their laughter bounced off the walls of the old estate, a sound so infectious that even the gloomy corridors seemed to brighten.

Aldric didn’t need to throw Gaius away; he had already proven himself—both to her and to himself. Together, they climbed not merely the physical towers of their lives but also the metaphorical ones that loomed in their pasts, and they emerged stronger for it.

With their hearts interwoven against the backdrop of the bustling city, Aldric and Gaius stepped into a journey flavored with love, laughter, and boundless skies ahead—a journey that had just begun but promised to flourish under the brilliance of their shared ambition.

Chapter 2

After nearly six months of relentless negotiations, the acquisition deal was finally complete.

Aldric Windham handed the contract to her secretary while tidying up her desk. "Everyone has worked so hard. Let’s wrap up this meeting and call it a day. Make sure to enjoy your weekend."

A collective sigh of relief filled the room as her colleagues quickly gathered their materials, eagerly bidding her farewell with soft-spoken goodbyes, worried she might change her mind and ask them to stay late.

With the conference room now empty, Aldric rubbed her temples, feeling the weight of the day settle in. She retrieved her phone and scrolled through the missed messages from Jasmine Fairchild. They flooded in, a barrage of complaints about how Aldric had gone silent for over a month.

Without hesitation, she dialed Jasmine's number.

“Wow, Aldric! You finally decided to respond! Did you forget about me? It’s been over a month since you checked in!” Jasmine exclaimed, astonished yet slightly hurt.

“Yeah, I know, my bad. I’ve just been swamped lately,” Aldric replied, glancing at the stack of paperwork still cluttering her desk.

“Okay, I get it. But if you’re calling, it means you're done. How about we go out tonight?”

“Sounds good! Same place as before?”

“Of course! Caius told me there are quite a few new faces around,” she teased.

“Great, see you later,” Aldric concluded, hanging up. Squaring her shoulders, she returned to her office, grabbed her bag, and headed to the underground parking garage, ready to drive home.

Once at home, she started filling the bathtub with hot water, catching a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Her deep red curls framed a sultry face, cascading down to her chest. With enviable curves and long, toned legs, she felt desirable, but also acutely aware of the attention she attracted—much of it undesired. The admirers in her life seemed less interested in her as a person and more in her status and wealth.

The notion of a relationship that demanded both emotional investment and financial commitment didn’t appeal to her anymore. Aldric would happily indulge her desires, but when it came to pleasure that could be bought, she preferred to keep things casual—no strings attached.

It had been too long since she had truly indulged those desires. Touching her chest lightly, she sighed, contemplating the growing tension.

As she settled into the warmth of the water, she let her legs dangle on either side of the bathtub. The heat enveloped her, but an underlying excitement urged her to extract herself from the tub's embrace.

Aldric didn’t often take matters into her own hands; usually, she opted for the straightforward way and found a man to assist in satiating her needs.

After a thorough drying and styling of her hair, she applied her makeup flawlessly and called for Driver Thorne to take her to Barker's Tavern.

Barker's Tavern was one of the finest spots in Meridian City, well known for its vibrant atmosphere and versatility, catering to all types. Whether for a quick casual date or a high-end escapade, it had something for everyone, ranging from young dudes like Tommy Green to high rollers worth millions. Even some aspiring stars found their way here to forge connections.

As a VIP member, Aldric commanded respect at the Tavern, and the owners understood that she was not one to put on airs, which made it easy for the employees to approach her as a friend.

Caius Ravenswood, one of the owners, was a charming twenty-something heir. Having launched his bar after returning home, he struck gold with the establishment, and Bunny's Duckling Shop became a staple. His father, who had amassed a fortune himself, raised Caius to run a clean establishment, with no illicit activity. This was one of the reasons Aldric frequented Barker's Tavern.

Upon arriving, Aldric spotted Caius at the front counter, and the moment their eyes locked, his lit up with delight.

“Aldric, you made it! It’s always a pleasure,” he exclaimed, his enthusiasm palpable.

Chapter 3

"It's been ages!" Caius Ravenswood complained as he walked up to her, leaning in close. "I thought you’d forgotten about me. Not even a text in forever!"

Aldric Windham considered Caius a brother, linking his arm with Caius's as they strolled inside. "Oh, please! I’m exhausted. I heard you brought some newcomers tonight."

Caius's expression shifted, his tall frame, over six feet, rubbing against her like a large dog seeking attention. "So you're not here just for me, huh? You don't even want to see me."

Aldric swayed unsteadily in her heels as he bumped into her. She had to push him away against the wall. "Cut it out! Let's just go enjoy ourselves tonight."

With an irritated huff, Caius reluctantly released her, muttering under his breath, "You know what I really wanted isn't this."

Caius had feelings for her, and Aldric was well aware of it; she simply wasn’t interested in diving into a relationship.

Ignoring his hint, Aldric stepped into the elevator and swiped her keycard for the fifth floor. This level was exclusive, accessible only to VIP members, with impeccably trained staff who kept everything confidential. The decor was lavish, in line with the high standards expected of the clientele.

"You’re going to show me the newcomers, right?" Aldric expected as she entered their private room. No one was there yet. She turned back to Caius and requested him to fetch something to eat—she was starving.

"Sure, sit tight," Caius said, lightly tracing over her bare back with his fingertips before he moved towards the door. Suddenly he paused and added, “We’ve got someone new tonight who’s different. Arran seems like he’d be right up your alley—you’ll like him.”

Aldric raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What makes him different?"

"He's still a virgin."

Her lips parted slightly at the revelation, a frown creasing her brow. "How do you know that?"

Caius was momentarily distracted by her lips, taking a beat before responding, "You'll find out when you meet him." With that, he stepped out, adjusting his slightly tight pants and swearing softly, “Damn, she's so tempting.”

Aldric was dressed in a deep green spaghetti strap dress, accented with a diamond necklace nestled perfectly between her cleavage, making her look alluring. Her back was mostly bare, showcasing a lovely waistline, and she wore strappy nude stilettos, which highlighted her delicate ankles and added an air of mystery. The dress split high on her thigh, teasing glimpses of her long legs with every step.

After a few moments, Aldric had munched through the piece of cake that Caius had sent her way before the arrival of her friends, Jasmine Fairchild and a mix of other known and unknown faces. The server had even mentioned that Caius specifically requested it.

With drinks flowing, the atmosphere shifted; everyone was loosening up, and Jasmine began calling the staff to bring in the newcomers.

“Hey, Windham,” Jasmine said, popping a grape into Aldric’s mouth. “Did you hear? There’s a super hot, innocent guy joining tonight. They say he’s a virgin!”

Aldric nodded through her grape-crammed mouth. "I guess this guy’s a bit of a big deal, huh?"

"What happens if I end up liking him? Will you try to steal him away from me, Windham?" Jasmine teased, batting her eyelashes comically.

Aldric couldn’t help but burst into laughter, shoving more grapes toward her. “No way! Let him choose who he wants.”

Jasmine, now resembling a chipmunk, laughed heartily as she chewed.

Meanwhile, the manager stood before seven nondescript men with their unique styles, delivering firm instructions. "No troubles with the guests in room 507, understand? Treat them right; they’re not the type you can afford to offend. Go get yourself ready—now."

Before the others left, the manager, Caspian, turned to Gaius Blackwood, who was new and still learning the ropes. "Listen, follow my lead here. Pour drinks when asked, drink when told, do whatever's required. If you're lucky, someone might pay big for a night with you. Do a good job, and you won't regret it."

Gaius tightly pressed his lips together and nodded.

His brother, Roland Blackwood, had recently fallen gravely ill, and despite working three jobs, Gaius couldn’t manage the medical expenses. Juggling school and living costs, he’d heard how quick money could be made in the business of companionship. People whispered that Gaius, being good-looking, could easily make a fortune if he went down that path.

But Gaius hesitated. Once he gathered enough for the medical and school fees, he intended to leave this life behind. Under no circumstances did he want Roland to know he was bartending for a living—if he did, it could lead to a disastrous confrontation.

Suppressing his anger and frustration, Gaius followed Caspian toward room 507.

Chapter 4

Aldric Windham was perched on a tall barstool at Barker's Tavern, casually holding a microphone while belting out a tune. He paused when he saw Aide Caspian knock at the door, setting the mic down and half-sitting up. One leg was planted firmly on the ground while the other rested on the footrest of the stool, making him look effortlessly cool. With half of his tousled hair draping over his chest and the other half tucked behind his ear, he exuded both charm and allure.

"Sorry to interrupt, ladies and gentlemen," Caspian said with a sly grin. "We've got a fresh batch of guests brought in just for you beautiful ladies to meet."

That’s when Aldric's gaze landed on Gaius Blackwood, and he felt a spark of intrigue—Caius Ravenswood was right; Gaius was unlike any of the others.

Sure, the other guys in the tavern were handsome, like the sunny and adorable Tommy Green, or the muscle-bound types sporting trendy attire—each wearing expressions of casual amusement.

But Gaius stood apart, dressed simply in a white tee and faded jeans, sporting a slightly worn pair of basketball shoes. His build was impressive—muscular but not overly bulky, suggesting hard work rather than endless hours in the gym. He had sharp features and striking dark hair, with deep-set eyes that glimmered like clear water. Aldric could instantly tell he was Gaius's type. However, the slight grimness etched on Gaius's face did add an air of mystery, making him appear like a college student who had been forced into selling himself.

Aldric found that thought amusing and chuckled softly. Caspian, relieved to see Aldric lightening up, ushered the guys inside and left.

The boys seemed to breathe a sigh of relief too, expecting a handful of wealthy older women but instead finding themselves in the company of vibrant, youthful beauties.

Jasmine Fairchild, always perceptive, noticed Aldric's interest and chimed in playfully, "So, Mr. White T-shirt, what’s your name?"

Gaius blinked in surprise, caught off guard as he replied truthfully, "I’m Gaius Blackwood."

His honesty left everyone momentarily stunned. In this line of work, nobody used real names. Gaius's straightforwardness was refreshing, and who could resist a guy like that? Jasmine laughed, leaning in, "Well, it looks like we’re all smitten with you! No pressure, but feel free to choose someone from our little hive of honey."

Gaius scanned the room, but his gaze eventually locked onto Aldric. Jasmine grinned, realizing that the other guys didn’t stand a chance. Without waiting for Gaius to speak, she started organizing her friends to select from the remaining six guys.

Aldric, sensing the connection, waved Gaius over to him.

"Gaius Blackwood," Aldric said, rolling his name off her tongue as she held his gaze. It felt as if he was trying to read right through her. But Aldric didn't shy away; she met his intense gaze with equal determination, noticing how straightforward he was in his thoughts, everything written plainly in his eyes.

Gaius, on the other hand, couldn't decipher anything beyond her bright, beaming smile, leaving him with hardly anything to grasp.

To everyone watching, it felt as if they were peering into a love story, two individuals deeply enchanted by one another. Jasmine raised her eyebrows, puzzled—her friend never easily fell for anyone; what was going on?

Before she could dwell on her thoughts, a batch of boys crowded around, exclaiming, "Hey sis! Hey sis!" and quickly diverted attention away from Aldric.

"You haven’t been in a place like this, have you?" Aldric asked, crossing her arms. The way she naturally accentuated her curves was almost magnetic, drawing the eye in a way that made it seems as if two playful bunnies might pop out from her outfit at any moment.

Chapter 5

Gaius Blackwood had rarely seen a scene like this, and he had never met a woman quite like Aldric Windham. She was not the type with a mature charm; she exuded a youthful confidence and sexiness that reminded him of a ripe peach, still slightly unripe, its flesh tender and blush pink.

Gaius had never been in a romantic relationship. A number of girls at school were interested in him, but deep down, he felt unworthy. What could he offer them but shared struggles? His pride prevented him from accepting help, making him feel as if it were charity. Over time, Gaius had become known as the "poor dreamer," someone who longed to change his fate through knowledge. This earnestness somehow made him more appealing, leaving him in the difficult position of having to turn girls away.

"I’ve never been here before," Gaius said, steadying himself.

"Can you drink?" Aldric asked as she returned to her seat, lifting a hexagonal glass half-filled with a mix of vodka and orange juice.

"Not really, but if you’re offering…" Gaius slid into the seat next to her.

Aldric chuckled at his response, reclining on the couch with her feet propped on the table. The soft fabric of her dress slipped down her legs, pooling at her thighs, marvelously revealing yet stylish. Gaius found himself staring at the screen where music videos played, not sure where to direct his gaze.

Aldric turned and gently grasped Gaius’s chin to bring his eyes to her own.

"Don’t be shy about looking at me," she said, raising her glass to her lips, and the sight of a few droplets pooling at the corners of her mouth and running down her graceful neck to the delicate curve of her collarbone nearly left Gaius speechless. Unbeknownst to him, he swallowed hard.

The air shifted between them; Gaius had a clean, innocent appeal that Aldric found magnetically alluring. Without a second thought, she leaned in and kissed him.

Taken aback, Gaius’s lips parted instinctively, allowing Aldric's playful tongue to explore. As she teasingly flicked at his tongue with hers, a jolt ran through him, awakening something primal within. Gaius quickly found his bearings and responded by mirroring her teasing movements, enjoying every second. Aldric took his hand, placing it on her chest, and Gaius was thrilled by the sensation that coursed through him.

As a diligent student, Gaius instinctively began to knead Aldric's softness. It was his first kiss, his first time exploring a woman’s body, and it felt nothing short of extraordinary. Aldric tasted sweet, her lips carrying the refreshing flavor of citrus; he found himself wanting more, drawing her in, holding her firmly yet gently.

"Mmm… ugh," she breathed out unexpectedly.

Aldric hadn’t anticipated that his enthusiasm would escalate so quickly; ultimately, she felt the need to push him away.

Caught in a moment of bliss, Gaius was reluctant to part. Their lips lingered; he could feel the warmth between them, an electric tension.

Glancing down, Aldric noticed Gaius’s evident excitement pressing against his jeans — a sight she had never encountered before.

So firm. So hot.

Aldric crossed her legs, feeling a pooling warmth of her own as she leaned against Gaius, subtly toying with his hand.

"There’s nothing to be embarrassed about; this is all pretty normal. Some people might even start right here," she chuckled, gesturing to the more audacious couples around them, where hands strolled under skirts, and flushed faces melted into soft embraces.

Feeling out of his depth, Gaius wrestled with his nerves. It was one thing to explore feelings privately, but doing it in front of so many people made him shy. He tightened his arm around Aldric, not daring to shift any further.

Yet the woman in his arms was soft and sweet, and as he lowered his gaze, his thoughts were consumed by her ruby-red lips and the heat radiating from her body.

Gaius’s perception of intimacy shifted dramatically; what had once seemed repulsive to him felt beautifully enchanting with Aldric.

"Maybe we should head out," Aldric suggested, pulling her hand away to stand, leading him out of the room.
